A little less certainty.
A great deal more outside.

Exploration of the Great Outdoors is fundamental to the Myconaut Way. A bicycle, a stretch of coast, a path with something going on beside it: these are perfectly adequate beginnings. The interesting part is allowing the day to become more than the efficient execution of a plan.

Myconaut follows curiosity across the ground and into ideas. Original photographs keep the writing in touch with particular places; science and history open further doors. Philosophy occasionally leans over the gate to offer an opinion. It is welcome, provided it does not obstruct the path.

This is a growing journal of real expeditions and considered observations, with room for music, fungi, experiments and the odd thought that refuses to behave. It begins with two expeditions. There is no need to pretend the shelves are full before the next good question arrives.

Between the bigger things

A destination is useful.
So is a distraction.

The Pevensey expedition has a castle, but also a strip of water, country passages and a bicycle with a working life. The spaces between named places have not been wasting their time.
