Fungi Foray – South Downs

Foraging Image

On a dewy morning beneath the chalky skies of Eastbourne, the Myconaut ventured forth across the South Downs. Blackberry-stained fingers, windswept hair, and fungal footprints marked the path of a fruitful foray.

Mushrooms appeared like stars through mist — from bracket fungi on elder trees to elusive fairy caps in the undergrowth. No liberty caps were spotted (yet), but the ecosystem thrummed with possibility.

All specimens were documented (and photographed with a cracked lens), to be studied later by the Mycelial Council. A sea swim followed — cleansing, invigorating, and salty as Neptune's beard.
